Continuing Investors in People (IiP)
Hygiene Cleaning Techniques is proud to have retained the Investors In People (IiP) accreditation following the assessment in August. The company has etained this recognition since meeting the standard in 2001.
Hygiene Cleaning Techniques have had a policy of staff development through training and development programmes with a mixture of recognized national qualifications, bespoke materials and specialist training. So what next? Hygiene Cleaning Techniques is making the Skills Pledge to develop basic skills, including literacy and numeracy and work towards relevant, valuable qualifications to at least NVQ Level 2 standard. The purpose is to ensure that all employees are skilled, competent and able to make a full contribution to the success of the organisation.
This is necessary to encourage staff recruitment and retention. Staff strive to provide the optimum service, with an eye for furthering their career aspirations and rewards. Our training champions are employees who have demonstrated high levels of specialist skills and who are encouraged to pass their skills on to their colleagues demonstrationg a very positive people culture. They are rewarded with enhanced pay rates and by the staff award scheme. Hygiene Cleaning Techniques benefit from improved attendance, loyalty, high standards of service along with greater levels of efficiency. This in turn impacts on the bottom line, which provides stability of employment and continuity of service levels. Costs of training are justified by increased productivity, better use of materials and machinery, improved health and safety and by encouaging staff to find better ways of working.
Area Manager Jenny Sherman commented "We want to work with people in a way that we get the best out of them and they will want to stay with us long term. Providing feedback and recognising people for their contribution is important to the culture at HCT".
